The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA-TCP) issued a statement calling for a complete cessation of political, military, financial, and logistical support by the United States to the State of Israel. It also urgently requests the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council to effectively fulfill their roles as guarantors of peace and security in West Asia and the world.
Likewise, the nations that make up the international bloc supported the convening of an International Summit for Peace and Against War, proposed by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, in order to end tensions in the Middle East:
«We consider it a priority to move toward the establishment of a Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and Other Weapons of Mass Destruction in the Middle East, in compliance with the historic resolutions of the United Nations,» the organization stated in the statement. It also demanded an immediate end to the genocide against the Palestinian people and progress in consolidating their sovereignty.
«ALBA reiterates its unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and multilateralism. We trust that this initiative will contribute to achieving a safer world and the long-awaited peace based on respect and justice among nations,» concluded the multilateral organization in its message.
