The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, called this Monday for strengthening the 13 Productive Engines and creating new imports to bolster the country’s economic independence.
During the 82nd edition of the «Con Maduro+» program, in the Digital Zone section, the head of state celebrated the country’s increase in non-oil exports to 87%: «We have to develop the 13 engines, which are already activated. We have to consolidate national production, import substitution, and the creation of new imports,» he stated.
In this regard, he called for the development of two types of «virtuous circuits of national production»: 1) One that produces everything in Venezuela and is based on the national currency; and 2) New exports to generate foreign currency beyond oil.
«We must raise as a major national goal to liberate ourselves from oil revenues so that Venezuela can become independent. This is the only way to overcome the economic war, which is being fueled by the psychological economic war. We are committed to this, and there are good indicators, but there is still a long way to go,» mentioned the President.
Finally, he proposed developing strategies, plans, and techniques to promote a virtuous economy, not a speculative one, not a parasitic one: «It is time for a productive and healthy economy,» he said.
