Head of State leads presentation of Legislative Plan for the candidates for National Assembly deputies

This Tuesday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros led the presentation of the proposed Legislative Plan for the candidates for Deputies of the Bolivarian National Assembly of the Great Patriotic Pole Simón Bolívar (GPPSB), for the 2026-2031 term.

With the submission of this document, the National Assembly (AN) reaffirms its commitment to the consolidation of a democratic, participatory, and proactive State, in addition to strengthening the principles of sovereignty, social justice, inclusion, and self-determination.

Furthermore, in the upcoming elections, not only will the candidates for the National Assembly be chosen, but also the governors and representatives of the country’s legislative councils, who will also contribute to the development of public policies tailored to the needs of the people.

In this regard, it is important to mention that the candidates elected on May 25 will legally serve before the National Assembly from January 5, 2026, to January 5, 2031.

Among the fundamental aspects of this legislative proposal are social protection, economic development, inclusion and citizen rights, sovereignty, and productive development.

It is important to remember that President Nicolás Maduro has consistently reiterated the need for massive and conscious participation by Venezuelans, thereby demonstrating once again that Venezuela is a democratic country with a sovereign development model.

Among those present were Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela; Blanca Eekhout, Deputy to the National Assembly; Nicolás Maduro Guerra, first vice president of the Permanent Commission on Economy, Finance, and National Development; Vanesa Montero, secretary general of the Somos Venezuela Movement; Ileana Medina, secretary general of the Patria para Todos (PPT) party; Gilberto Giménez, president of the People’s Electoral Movement (MEP); Henry Parra, president of the Communist Party of Venezuela; Didalco Bolívar, president of the Podemos Party, among other figures.
