The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, explained through his Telegram channel that despite unilateral sanctions and the attack on the currency through the criminal dollar, the National Government is protecting the workers’ income:
«Workers earned the equivalent of 29, all the damages they did to us, where we were (and) where we are now, and where we’re going, now we’re defending our income because they’ve resumed the economic war,» emphasized the president.
He stated that the fascist far-right and the North American empire have attacked the Venezuelan people with the economic war, but all those plans are being defeated by the 13 productive engines:
«We will continue on our course to reach a safe harbor, peace for the country, stability for the country, and the development of the 13 drivers to generate products, services, and supplies to ensure we have the resources,» stated the head of state.

He also sent a message to those who have promoted destabilizing plans:
«I say to the fascists, the sayona (*), and to the imperialism: You have not been able to defeat us, the people of Venezuela, and that they will not be able to defeat us. We will continue on our victorious path until we reach a safe harbor, with stability, peace, and development. We are the sons and daughters of Bolívar!» concluded President Nicolás Maduro.
*: The “Sayona” is a character of the Venezuelan lore, which refers to a ghoulish woman who wanders at night crying and lamenting.
