The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced that the Popular Consultation of the Youth will be held on July 27, 2025, and that it represents a monumental milestone for citizen participation in Venezuela.
The head of state declared: «These elections will allow the youth to lead community projects, to consolidate the model of direct democracy in the country.»
This essential process seeks to resize Communal Self-Government, with the goal of achieving 100% Popular and Communal Government Systems in the next 30 days.
The president emphasized: «We must perfect the methodology of Communal Self-Government and create solid foundations for the future of our society.»
The integration of major social missions into this dynamic is fundamental. «To include the women, the culture, and the elders strengthens our commitment to People’s Power,» emphasized the President.
Through these initiatives, the Bolivarian Government reaffirms itself as the voice of a new model of communal State, aimed at empowering communities and promoting a democracy where every citizen has a say in their destiny. «People’s participation is the key to generating real change in our nation,» concluded President Maduro.
For his part, the Minister of People’s Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, highlighted the massive participation of the people in the communal consultations, emphasizing that People’s Power is the new government in the communities.
Likewise, Jorge Arreaza, Vice President for Communes and Social Movements of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), commented: «The University of the Communes will be a pillar of transformation based on popular and technical knowledge, where students will be elected by the Communal Circuits themselves. We will be with them from the beginning of their studies to the end, working on projects related to the People’s Power, whether in engineering, architecture, agri-food, health, among others.»
