During the broadcast of his 76th “Con Maduro +” program, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros asserted that «Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele is a violator of human rights, a serial violator of freedom, the dignity of human beings, and fair treatment.»
The President made this accusation following Bukele’s recent statements about an offer to exchange Venezuelan migrants for the same number of what they call «political prisoners.»
The Venezuelan President has emphasized that these actions are under debate due to the forced disappearance of this group of 252 Venezuelan migrants, who are being held in the worst conditions, under constant abuse and torture, in El Salvador:
«These Venezuelans, who are kidnapped, have not been allowed access to a single call to their families (…) nor to the Salvadoran lawyers hired by their families, nor to any United Nations Human Rights organization (…); because there is no crime involved, they are simply kidnapped,» stated the president.
Furthermore, he also emphasized that «this is nothing more than a state kidnapping, a kidnapping perpetrated by the state, a serious crime against humanity,» which has been carried out against this group of Venezuelans and Latin Americans, because “two months later, after their families demanded the Salvadoran president, it has not been provided a proof of life or a list of the people he is kidnapping there, illegally and brutally.»
