«Economic warfare requires psychological warfare to exist and be effective,» asserted the Vice President of Communication and Culture, Freddy Ñáñez, referring to the latest hoax by the news agencies against the Venezuelan people, in which a media outlet published new fake news about the country’s economy.
In a post on his social media, Ñáñez stated that «Reuters is once again lying about Venezuela,» referring to a press release with the following headline: «Exports of Venezuelan companies fell 11.5% in March» containing alleged documents and data.
He explained that these actions are carried out as part of «an economic war that requires psychological warfare in order to exist and be effective» and that «it is not, nor will it be, the first or last time that we confront Reuters propaganda and that we dismantle their lies with the force of reality.»
The Minister for Communication and Information also asserted that «Venezuela has successfully confronted all forms of aggression described in the imperial manuals.» These actions are part of a cognitive war that reaffirms the interests of third parties over Venezuelans’ resources.
