During the 24th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), which took place this Saturday, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, indicated that they will activate and inaugurate the ALBA-TCP Science, Technology and Innovation Center.
In this sense, he stressed that they are going to activate «what we discussed at the last summit in Havana, a year ago; Its construction is now ready, its structure is ready to be activated and inaugurated with scientific and technological priorities in the direction of accelerated capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and management of social networks… ALBA is entering into a special project to build ALBA’s Artificial Intelligence capabilities”
He stressed that AI “has already arrived, and there is even talk of artificial superintelligence. We, as peoples of ALBA, fortunately have a very good friendship and cooperation with brothers from around the world who have made great progress in the subject of AI; these are Russia, China and Iran. ALBA is entering into a special project to build artificial intelligence capabilities.”
Likewise, he insisted that AI has an important role in the management of social networks: “These are issues that have to be put into the daily words of the leaders of our countries. These are issues that must be discussed with children, girls, and youth. AI has characterized countries by segments, through WhatsApp, in addition to the espionage they apply.”
It is worth noting that the objective of this summit is historically a destiny that marks the nations of the regional bloc and allows the consecration of new policies, fair trade, as well as solidarity and complementarity to benefit the people and, above all, fight against Western oppression.
