The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, leads a communal assembly with the candidates for Communal Justices of the Peace in the city of Caracas, from the 23 de Enero parish (Caracas), in the El Panal 2021 commune.
The National President held this meeting in this iconic parish, in view of the elections of next December 15, a process that translates into mechanisms of direct, real, true and popular democracy.
The elections for Justices of the Peace will be held in the context of the 25th Anniversary of the Venezuelan Magna Carta. This day, 30,000 Communal Justices of the Peace will be elected throughout the country, from among more than 52,000 candidates.
This election is a historic event and prior to it, a schedule of activities has been structured in an organized manner, which began with the installation of the National Electoral Commission for the Elections of Judges of the Peace, represented by the five Public Powers of the Venezuelan State that have merged with the People’s Power.
At this meeting, the Communer President is accompanied by the First Combatant Woman of the Republic, Cilia Flores; the Minister of People’s Power for the Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado; the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez; the Mayor of the Bolivarian Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez; the Head of Government of the Capital District, Nahúm Fernández; in order to lead this loving act with the candidates for Communal Judges of the Peace.
When taking the floor, the head of State expressed his joy, along with the People’s Power, and said that his happiness is due to the fact that he feels like he is part of the people and to his visit to this place that brings back memories of many years and struggles:
“If someone were to ask us, who are you, Maduro? I would tell them: I am a man from the streets, from the neighborhoods (…) I was formed in the neighborhoods of El Valle, 23 de Enero, Catia, El Guarataro,” said the national leader, in this communal assembly.
