“I totally repudiate the criminal attempt to name Bolívar after a law of war against Venezuela, a dirty, criminal law against Venezuela”.
The words correspond to the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, emphasizing that such an action is an insult to the memory of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, “who was an exceptional human being, the sublime expression of an exceptional moment in our Americas. The greatest among the greats”.
During his speech at the Installation of the National Electoral Commission for the Election of Justices of the Peace, a meeting held at the Federal Legislative Palace, the Head of State, in underlining the current relevance of the Bolivarian legacy in the face of external threats, referred to the famous sentence of Liberator Simón Bolívar regarding the United States:
“(…) You seem destined to plague the world with uncertainty, with war in the name of freedom, and you have not been able, nor will you be able to defeat Venezuela, not even with this garbage law, with this law of infamy”, he said.
In the forceful speech, the president of Venezuela described those who try to promote the law against the nation as “misappropriators of freedom”, of trying “to plague Venezuela with sanctions, in the name of freedom, with the name of Bolívar”.
Likewise, the Venezuelan dignitary called for maximum awareness, and also addressed those who support this law, pointing out that it is “an association to commit crime”, and warning: “All those who associate so that the garbage law, the law of war against Venezuela is approved, will face the consequences”.
“Not even with this garbage law, with this law of infamy… I call it the garbage law because it is also written (in Spanish) with a capital B, but it is garbage”. President Maduro reaffirmed his commitment to the Bolivarian people and values, making it clear that he will not allow the name of the Liberator to be used to justify hostile actions against his country.
