Learn about the process for the election of Justices of the Peace on December 15

From the Francisco de Miranda Hall of the Legislative Palace, where the National Electoral Commission was installed for the election of Justices of the Peace, scheduled for December 15, the president of the National Assembly and deputy, Jorge Rodríguez, offered details of the preparations for this date.

The electoral process will be in charge of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and the Plan República (Republic Plan of military safeguarding), in which a voting center will be enabled for each communal circuit, that is, there will be 5,000 voting centers that will be available for the election day.

From November 25 to 27, the nomination of candidates will be carried out.

On November 29, the list of candidates for each circuit will be published, which represents a total of 5,000 lists.

The candidates will have an associated number, which will be used at the time of voting.

The campaign for the candidates for Justice of the Peace begins on December 5 and will end on the 13th.

Up to 3 Justices of the Peace will be elected, with their corresponding substitutes in each communal circuit.

The voting ballot will be simple, in which the candidates who have been nominated by the communal councils, the neighborhood associations or on their own initiative will be visible.

5,000 communal circuits have been defined, made up of 3,643 communes and groups of communal councils around a given territory, in this case, by communal circuits.

30,000 justices of the peace will be chosen, in which 15,000 justices of the peace will be the principals; and the other 15,000 will be the substitutes.

The only requirement to vote will be the laminated identity card.

All natural persons over 15 years of age will be able to vote, since youth have an active role in the affairs of the communes and the communal councils.
