In the 58th edition of the “Con Maduro+” program, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, in the «+ Technology» section, announced the results of the second International Technology Fair of Venezuela held in Caracas, highlighting that telecommunications is one of the 18 engines of the Bolivarian economy and is one of the sectors with the greatest growth and expansion.
Positive results in the financial, economic, attendance of people, the demonstration of technology, with the participation of private and public companies, demonstrated the development in which the country is located.
The general director of the National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL), (M/G) Jorge Márquez, showed important data from this International Fair, highlighting that in recent years there has been an interesting growth of companies providing Internet service, reaching almost 270 companies and seven years ago there were only 90; Internet consumption in the country has increased, reaching an increase of 246% in recent years, which reflects that more Venezuelans have access to this service.
He also said that the rates in the Venezuelan market are one of the lowest in Latin America, which increases the demand for consumption of the service.
A great opportunity is opening up for the national economy, since international investors want to enter the Venezuelan market to have a share in the provision of the service.
Regarding the influx of visitors to this second fair, it was more than 40,000 people, commercial transactions were more than 48 million dollars between alliances, Internet sales, alliances for the creation of optical fiber factories, which turned the event into a center for conversation, negotiation, and the signing of important agreements.
Important alliances for optical fiber:
An agreement was also signed at the fair for the topic of optical fiber with two fundamental aspects: The first of these is the strategic alliance between the Socialist Corporation of Telecommunications and Postal Services C.A. (Corpostel), the National Telephone Company of Venezuela (CANTV) and Iran’s Modern Data Development Company (MDC), for the manufacture of optical fiber in Venezuela.
This would be the second factory in South America, and Venezuela would be projecting itself to Central America, the Caribbean and South America, for the commercialization and sale of fiber of extraordinary quality.
On the other hand, it is important to mention the strategic alliance between the company and the government of La Guaira, since in this state; within the framework of the special economic zone, the agreement was signed for this factory to be in La Guaira, said the president of CONATEL.
