The president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Jorge Rodríguez, showed the original communication signed by Edmundo González, and addressed to the representative of the parliament, where he recognizes the institutions of the Venezuelan State.
This was indicated this Wednesday during statements to the press, where he detailed the efforts made between the governments of the Kingdom of Spain and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, for the departure of the former candidate.
He stated that in previous days they were contacted by González’s interlocutors, and, subsequently, the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, commissioned the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, to lead the personal and telephone conversations, at the embassy of the Kingdom of Spain.
This is how the former candidate invited, the night before leaving Venezuela, to talk at the embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Caracas, a meeting where the vice president was present.
Rodríguez indicated that in the communication, “the headline is newsworthy” because it recognizes the National Assembly and points out that the National Electoral Council (CNE) issued the results, which the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) ratified, declaring President Maduro as the winner.
This sentence was accepted by the former candidate, however, “Many news media and governments that are enemies of the Revolution insist on the idea that the CNE has not issued any results, but Mr. González Urrutia himself points out that the CNE issued some results on the night of July 28,” said the president of parliament.
She explained that González sought out representatives of the National Government, without any kind of measures, as has been seen by foreign press agencies and sectors of the extremism, in which Mr. González Urrutia, “could feel violated, quite the contrary, he sought us out to talk and there came out his decision to leave Venezuela and request asylum in Spain.”
Rodríguez insisted that everything that refers to the refugee situation in embassies of foreign countries in Venezuela is respected in an unrestricted manner.
He explained that the entry of the Spanish Air Force plane was with authorization from the National Government, through direct conversations between the vice president and the Spanish Government, so that the plane would go from Madrid to the Dominican Republic and when the corresponding approval was granted, the Spanish plane was authorized to fly over Venezuelan territory and land at the Simón Bolívar International Airport so that the former candidate could leave the country.
