During the “Con Maduro+” program, in an interaction between the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro and the Minister for Internal affairs, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, was shared information about the ongoing investigation related to a terrorist plan against the country.
Minister Cabello revealed that the investigation has focused on three main fronts: terrorist actions, mercenaries, and weapons.
He also highlighted that “more than four hundred rifles had been seized. Four hundred pieces of equipment, in theory, for four hundred men, to be used against whom? Against our people”.
President Maduro complemented the information, mentioning that the discovery was made thanks to “popular, national and international intelligence sources”.
Both authorities detailed how the capture of some suspects led to the discovery of links with the criminal group known as “Tren de Aragua.” Maduro specifically mentioned an individual nicknamed “El Niño Guerrero,” indicating that he had been recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and was the one who personally directed part of the riots that occurred between July 29 and 31.
“We had several reports that Niño Guerrero is in Venezuela, that Niño Guerrero was recruited by the CIA, that the entire operation that was carried out worldwide to declare Niño Guerrero a terrorist was part of a façade to really cover him up, to blackmail him, to force him to join the United States government in the aggression against Venezuela and that Niño Guerrero personally directed part of the outrages and criminal violence of July 29, 30 and 31,” he detailed.
A highlight was the mention of the active US military officer, identified as Wilber Joseph Castañeda, who established contact with a woman linked to the “Tren de Aragua” to coordinate terrorist operations that were intended to coincide with the July 28 elections, as he detailed.
The Head of State stressed that there is evidence linking this military officer to the plan, which will be presented by the prosecution in the corresponding courts. He also detailed that the plan included actions for the day of the elections, mentioning the distribution of pamphlets in Miami and Colombia announcing actions against Miraflores Palace, regardless of the election results.
