The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Europe, Coromoto Godoy Calderón, delivered to the Chargé d’Affaires of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Robert Schuddeboom, a protest note for the interventionist and illegal conduct of its diplomatic representation before the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for covering up, in an arrogant and unfriendly attitude, the organization and direction of activities against the stability and peace of the country by Edmundo González Urrutia.
Through a publication on her social networks, Vice Minister Godoy pointed out that «the aggravating factor was maintained even when the aforementioned citizen was being judicially required, thus allowing him to evade his responsibilities before the Venezuelan justice.»
It is worth noting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, confirmed in a letter that Edmundo González requested refuge in the Dutch diplomatic residence in Caracas from the day after the presidential elections on July 28, where he also indicated a prior planning of his departure from Venezuela.
Veldkamp also mentioned that González decided to leave without consulting his political entourage, which generated confusion in María Corina Machado and other far-right wing opponents.
