The Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, through File No. AA70-E-2024-000034 released this Saturday, reports that the expertise initiated on August 5 continues, in order to issue a final judgment on the electoral dispute appeal filed, which will have the character of res judicata and unappealable. This expert opinion is based on all the electoral material of probative value submitted by the Electoral Power, and the 33 of the 38 political organizations summoned to the hearings on August 7, 8 and 9.
Likewise will be done regarding the massive cyber attack that affected the Venezuelan electoral system on July 28, the day of the presidential elections. The Supreme Court clearly states in its report that former candidate Edmundo González Urrutia did not comply with the summons order and consequently did not present the minutes of the vote count, list of witnesses, or any electoral material.
It also highlights that those supporting former candidate González Urrutia, members of the Democratic Unitary Platform Alliance, also did not submit electoral material and argued that they did not have any type of documentation related to the process, such as minutes of the vote count and lists of witnesses. They also indicated that they did not participate in the transfer and safekeeping of electoral material, and pointed out that the SUMATE organization was part of the technical advisory team of the Alliance.
Regarding the uploading of the alleged minutes of the vote count on the www.resultadospresidencialesvenezuela2024.com website, they claim to be unaware of who published them, an action that is currently being investigated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. In this regard, was quoted the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, when he announced the ordering of the investigation to determine the responsibilities related to the alleged commission of the following crimes: usurpation of functions, forgery of public documents, instigation to disobedience of the laws, computer crimes, criminal association and conspiracy, due to the anxiety caused in the population.
The file also shows that the political organizations Alianza al Lápiz and Movimiento Centrados Para la Gente, did not present the requested electoral material, just as the former candidates Antonio Ecarri and Enrique Márquez. In the document known this Saturday, it is highlighted that the Chamber will have highly qualified personnel, using the highest technical standards, in order to guarantee that the conflicts are resolved in a sovereign and fair manner.
