The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed this Wednesday that the political parties that supported former candidate Edmundo González in the elections of last July 28, acknowledged before the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) that they have no records or evidence of the alleged electoral fraud.
After welcoming a march of urban farmers, producers, peasants and fishermen at Miraflores Palace in Caracas, he referred to the appearing before the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ of Manuel Rosales for the Un Nuevo Tiempo party; José Luis Cartaya for the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) and Simón Calzadilla, representing the Movimiento por Venezuela party.
He specified that the three “declared before the court and it was recorded where they acknowledged that they have no records, that they have nothing, that it is a farce. They acknowledged a thousand things that I am not going to repeat… it was recorded and signed,” but “when they went to the microphones, they started to scream.”
He also stressed that González Urrutia did not attend the court hearing scheduled for August 7, which carries serious legal consequences:
“He did not show his face, he hid, he has nothing and the three parties that did attended have judicially acknowledged that they have nothing, that everything they have publicly maintained is a lie. And so there is a process in the Supreme Court, there is a constitutional process at the highest level that I do not hesitate to describe as a historic judicial process,” he added.
Likewise, Maduro indicated that it is all a media campaign, since the former candidate of the extreme right wing first said that he did not recognize the National Electoral Council (CNE) nor the result, and now, in order not to respond to the call of the TSJ, he argues that he does not recognize the court, but the CNE:
“He did not go to the Supreme Court and said that he did not go because he allegedly only recognizes the CNE, but when they summoned him two months ago to sign a mandatory document to recognize the election results, he said that he did not go to the CNE because he did not recognize the CNE. When the CNE gave the official results as the Electoral Power, he said that he did not recognize that but some forged minutes that they published on a website,” he stressed.
In this regard, he commented that on the website that the extreme right wing sector created a day before the elections, 80% of the minutes are false, as demonstrated by various observers and specialists in the matter.
Now, added the president, González Urrutia intends to proclaim himself as president, and in that plan, the United States has a maneuver to say that in Venezuela are not the Venezuelans who are in charge, but them and other foreign governments:
“That is called colonialism, and I say to our beloved people, we are going to consolidate peace, we are going to consolidate the path of work, of production, and in Venezuela we Venezuelans rule and the law, the Constitution and the public powers of Venezuela will prevail. The last word is up to the Venezuelan institutions because the fascist criminals are cowards, I am not saying this just for the sake of it. Mr. González Urrutia is a war criminal and he is a coward, he does not show his face, he orders others to commit, to undo,” he said.
Last week, the extreme right wing led by former candidate Edmundo González Urrutia and his mentor, María Corina Machado, executed a coup plan with the support of the US and platforms such as X, which President Maduro has qualified as a cyber-fascist and criminal coup d’etat to disown the election results.
