The Governments of Venezuela and Brazil established an agreement for the custody of the premises of the diplomatic missions of Argentina and Peru in our country, as reported the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil.
Through a statement published on his account on the X social network, the head of the Foreign Affairs portfolio detailed that said agreement contemplates that Brazil will also be in charge of the custody of assets, archives, and will also represent the interests of these nations in Venezuelan territory:
“The Government of Venezuela and the Government of Brazil have the pleasure of informing that they have reached the present agreement so that the custody of the premises of the Argentinean and Peruvian Diplomatic Missions, including their assets and archives, as well as the representation of their interests and their nationals in Venezuelan territory, will be represented as of August 5, 2024 by the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Caracas,” as published the Chancellor on the social network.
It is important to remember that these actions occur after the Venezuelan government, in a sovereign action and out of respect for our independence, broke relations with Peru and Argentina after these countries spoke out in favor of the coup plans of the extreme right wing:
“I have expelled all diplomatic personnel and broken relations with the fascist governments, enough is enough. Venezuela is respected, now,” said the first national leader, Nicolás Maduro, on July 31.
