Venezuela signs energy agreements with Trinidad and Tobago

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led this Wednesday a work agenda to strengthen the energy cooperation map with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, an act in which important documents were signed as part of the exploration licenses and exploitation of non-associated gaseous hydrocarbons from the Cocuina field on the Delta platform.

The meeting held in the Sol del Perú Hall of Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, was attended by the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez; the Sectoral Vice President for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, the Minister of People’s Power for Petroleum and president of PDVSA, Pedro Rafael Tellechea, among other authorities of the Executive Cabinet.

The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Richard Young, was present for the delegation of Trinidad and Tobago, accompanied by the delegation of the Government of the Caribbean island.

In that sense, the head of state expressed: “To the entire delegation of Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, we continue to take monumental steps, as you say, Minister Stuart Young, to consolidate a relationship of good neighborliness and brotherhood that is and should always be a relationship. that serves as a model in the world for relations of cooperation and peace, increasingly.”

He recalled that in the face of the intrigues and hatred that are intended to be imposed between both nations, Peace Diplomacy for cooperation and development triumphed, as well as common sense and feelings of brotherhood. “It is the diplomacy of the new world and it cannot be the diplomacy of threats. “There is a multipolar world.”

For his part, the head of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago highlighted that “It was here in Miraflores, President Nicolás Maduro, that you told us to do it quickly and thanks to the efforts of the teams (…) Once again we have shown the world «What happens when two brother countries work together, in difficult times they defend what is right, the sovereign rights of two countries.»

Among the agreements signed, are:

– Authorization for tax admission of the production of the Cocuina Field on the Delta platform.

– Agreements on the execution period of the Manakin-Cocuina Field Area Unit.

– Approval document concerning the functional and governance structure for the operation of the Manakin-Cocuina Field Area Unit.

– Authorization for tax admission of the production at the platform’s Cocuina Field.

– License for the exploration and exploitation of non-associated gaseous hydrocarbons in the Cocuina Field on the Delta platform.

Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago have expressed their commitment to the reactivation of energy cooperation and the search for formulas for the normalization of gas and crude oil supplies.
