The president of the Bolivarian Republic, Nicolás Maduro, marked a new achievement with the delivery of the five millionth home of the Great Mission Housing Venezuela (GMVV), in the “Che Guevara” Urban Development, located in Lara state, where were delivered to 80 families the keys to their new home, in compliance with the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez, who initiated this social program that seeks to guarantee that the people have access to a decent home.
The head of state, in his speech, stated that this Mission has been maintained despite the difficulties, attacks and sanctions that the country constantly faces, which reaffirms the Bolivarian Government’s commitment to the protection of the most vulnerable.
In this sense, one of the beneficiaries of the housing, Francelina Morle, expressed her gratitude and emotion at seeing the dream of having her own home come true, which was possible thanks to the vision of Commander Chávez and a request that she personally delivered to him, according to the story she gave to President Maduro.
For his part, the Minister of People’s Power for Habitat and Housing, Ildemaro Villarroel, highlighted the significant growth in self-construction within the GMVV, which in the last four years has gone from 35% to 75%, thanks to the direct execution of the People’s Power.
The delivery of the five million home represents the materialization of a project that seeks to guarantee the well-being and security of millions, which makes Venezuela a notable example in the field of social housing worldwide.
