In order to strengthen Venezuela-China relations and the cooperation map, the president of the Bolivarian Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros and the government cabinet met this May 22 with the representative of International Trade of China, Wang Shouwen, and the delegation of the Asian giant that is in the country.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez; the Minister of People’s Power of Petroleum, Pedro Rafael Tellechea, and the sectoral vice president for Economy, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, on behalf of the Venezuelan delegation.
While the Asian group was made up of the general director of American and Oceania affairs, Lin Fem; division director of the department of treaties and law, Sun Shao; the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Lan Hu and the director of the Department for American and Oceanic Affairs, Wu Hin.
China maintains more than 600 cooperation agreements with Venezuela, which makes it the country’s main trading partner, with accelerated growth in the different areas that they work together.
Under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro, relations between both countries continue to advance uninterruptedly towards the definitive construction of a multipolar world. Chinese-Venezuelan friendly ties are based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, with a vision oriented towards the future.
To date, numerous projects have been carried out in key areas such as energy, industry, infrastructure, housing, agriculture, science and technology, transportation, culture, trade, security and defense, evidencing the breadth and diversity of bilateral cooperation.
