“Today we are receiving a Law ratified in its organic nature, by the Supreme Court of Justice, and I can say with full knowledge of the facts, with all the powers and power that the Constitution gives me that the decision of December 3, converted in the Organic Law of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, will be complied with in all its parts, in the defense of Venezuela in international arenas,” stated the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, regarding the act of promulgation of the Law. The head of state, when referring to the Consultative Referendum of December 3, 2023, recalled that there were sectors of the national and international right that tried to carry out sabotage actions to suspend the aforementioned electoral event in which the Venezuelan people participated massively. to defend their historical rights over the Essequibo:
“There were those who called to vote Yes, for three questions and no for two, there were those who called to vote yes for the five questions, there were those who called not to vote, there were those who called to sabotage the referendum and for it to be suspended: The ExxonMobil company, Guyana and the internal fascist surnames of the country, and after all that there was a historic decision that we must respect, and that is a unique, indivisible and binding mandate for all Venezuelans.”
In this sense, the constitutional president emphasized that, for the first time in the history of Venezuela, a popular consultation of a binding nature such as a referendum, becomes the law of the Republic to form part of the legal structure, as well as the political movement and internal institutional of a country. “If the decision of the referendum was already obligatory and binding, today it is also legal.
