Minister Padrino López: Guyana gives another kick to the Argyle agreements and threatens peace

The Minister of People’s Power for Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino, through his account on the X social network pointed out that the president of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Mohamed Irfaan Ali, gave another blow to the Argyle Joint Declaration and threatened the peace of the region, given the looming possibility of forming an international coalition against Venezuela.

The also sectoral vice president for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, posted a video of Irfaan Ali, in an interview given to the BBC international news agency, in which he specified the message of aggression against Venezuela and continued his dangerous and irresponsible warmongering rhetoric.

In turn, the head of the Defense portfolio stated: “You should know that something more powerful than a “coalition” is the will and determination of our people in the defense of Essequibo. Nothing will stop us!”

The first point of the Argyle Joint Declaration for Dialogue and Peace between Guyana and Venezuela, signed last December 14, 2023, highlights: “It was agreed that Guyana and Venezuela, directly or indirectly, will not threaten each other, nor will they mutually use force under any circumstances, including those arising from any dispute existing between both States.”
