“Today I have not only come to register my name, but to register the dream of a Homeland, I came to invite you to continue dreaming and to continue transforming our reality forward, towards the future. This is not an election for a color, a man, or a name, what we are going to elect on July 28 is the right to the future, the right to exist, the right to life, the right to independence, the right to have a country.”
The preceding quote is from the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro Moros, expressed during the process of his registration as a presidential candidate before the National Electoral Council (CNE) for the 2025-2031 term, and where he confirmed that on July 28 is precised the continuity of the independence bequeathed by the liberating fathers, in the face of the surrendering pretensions of the oligarchy that seeks to gain political power.
The standard bearer of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole, specified that the Bolivarian Revolution does have a country project and a plan consecrated by the experience of the most difficult years, as well as by a wide and permanent consultation and debate with the people:
“They, the surnames dragging for imperialism, all of them lackeys of the right wing, are the anti-project, they are a skirmish, they have never had a national plan for the country, but what they have are personal ambitions, economic interests that they want to satisfy at whatever the price, in order to deliver our country to the clutches of the North American empire,» denounced the Chavista candidate Nicolás Maduro.
He indicated that this surrenderist plan has been demonstrated in every historical moment that the oligarchy has had political power handed over by the people. He made a chronology from 2015, when the extremist right wing deceived a part of the people with “the last queue (*).”
“The little hand(**) in the last line, do you remember it? and then they defrauded, they defrauded those who voted for them and from the National Assembly in their hands, five years were dedicated to seeking violence, civil war, guarimba (riots), to request sanctions against society and the economy, to ask for the blockade and invasion of their own country. Let’s never forget, it is forbidden to forget! Five years of destruction against the people, against sovereignty, against democracy,” Maduro lashed out.
He reiterated that the oligarchy that has been in political power represents hopelessness, the failed past and “they do not act on their own, they are pieces in the game of the American empire to take over Venezuela and the Americas of Bolívar, our South America, our Latin America. Faced with the nothingness of surnames, I am sure that the national renaissance will prevail with the creative powers of a brave, heroic, patriotic people.”
(*): “The last queue” refers to the promise made by the rightwing in the elections of 2015, where they promised the people “the last queue” they would ever do again was to go to the polling stations to vote, since back then there was a heavy shortage of products – as a product of the blockade generated by the rightwing themselves – which forced people and commercial establishments to form queues due to rationing and scarcity.
(**): “The little hand” was the symbol the then unitary platform of the rightwing used to get identified in the electoral ballot.
