President Maduro inaugurates “Hugo Chávez” Recreational Sports Complex in Falcón state

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, inaugurated, this Thursday afternoon, the “Hugo Chávez” Recreational Sports Complex, a project made up of six venues which were rehabilitated and transformed with the best sporting standards, so that athletes can train in different sport disciplines.

This Sports Complex has the “Carlos Sánchez” covered gym, a space enabled for the practice of basketball and indoor soccer disciplines.

Earlier, the Head of State announced through his WhatsApp instant messaging channel that this work is part of the first youth zone of the Great Mission Young Venezuela, a program that seeks to guarantee the healthy recreation of youth and the family.

Likewise, the delivery of this work, which included the conditioning of the floor, adaptation of the stands, improvement of the ceiling, transformation of the public bathrooms and adaptation of the lighting system, is framed in the 70 works to be inaugurated for the 70 years of Commander Chávez .

Meanwhile, the velodrome has a new track with the highest and most modern Olympic standards for the preparation of athletes, while in the “Gabriel Guanipa Semeco” gym, work was carried out to repair cracks and leaks, repair the ventilation and adaptation of bathrooms.

This space -in a first stage- has 36 hectares enabled for the practice of 18 highly competitive sports disciplines, as well as recreational areas that include cycle paths, playgrounds, theme parks, cultural amphitheater and squares.

The rehabilitation of the sports city began in June 2023, with the expansion and transformation work of the Coro sports center, with the aim of converting it into the current “500 years of Coro” University Sports City, which has modern spaces for sports practices.

The Dignitary is accompanied by the first combatant and deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Cilia Flores de Maduro, the governor of the entity, Víctor Clark, the head of the Great Young Venezuela Mission, Génesis Garvet, authorities of the Executive Cabinet and special guests.
