President Maduro activates Tax Harmonization Council

In the context of the approval of the Organic Law of Coordination and Harmonization of the Tax Powers of the states and municipalities, the Tax Harmonization Council comes into operation, as reported the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during the National Council of Productive Economy in National Union.

With a strategic participation of all national, regional and municipal economic factors, the new instrument will apply the tables of the maximum values for municipal and state taxes in an initiative that allows a “win-win” between all those involved:

The more economic activity, the more jobs generation, the more goods, products, services and wealth that are produced in the municipality and in the states, it is good for everyone,” he affirmed from Miraflores Palace, in Caracas.

In this regard, the mayoress of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, pointed out that the tables were established by consensus among all participants, including the businessmen who were in working groups with the Ministry of People’s Power for Economy and Finances.

She highlighted that the economic activities of the tertiary sector, identified as wholesale and retail trade, represent 63%, added to the manufacturing industries in the secondary sector with 35% and the primary sector with 2.2% of the municipal economic movement.
