“The State security policy designed and guided by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, the Great Quadrants of Peace Mission, resulted in this successful operation by dealing a hard blow to the criminal groups that operated from this site against the Venezuelan people. «Tocorón is over, the Venezuelan State has taken full control of this prison,» this was stated in a direct broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión by the Sectoral Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, from the scene of the events.
As is known, in the “Tocorón” penitentiary center, Zamora municipality, Aragua state, was carried out the Cacique Guaicaipuro Liberation Operation, to eradicate the criminal groups that operated in this place and were dedicated to kidnapping, extortion, homicide, hitmen, computer crimes among others, to alter citizen security and tranquility.
Likewise, Ichaso pointed out that the gangs dedicated to human trafficking and drug trafficking were dismantled. On the other hand, he explained that four officials were arrested for bringing into Tocorón war material which was seized by state security forces:
“This operation had a year of planning and was carried out without violating the human rights of those deprived of liberty. All this under the adjustment to international protocols for actions of this type: The Venezuelan prison system is one of the most modern on the continent,” he stated.
The Sectoral Vice President indicated that the necessary transfers of those deprived of liberty to other detention centers were carried out with the full identification of the prisoners: “More than 60 individuals who belonged to different criminal structures provide information of criminalistic interest that will allow future captures that are going to be carried out.”
Finally, he stated that through already open investigations the law will be applied to collaborating and accomplice officials and the respective criminal responsibilities will be determined.
