President Maduro Welcomed triple jump champion Yulimar Rojas

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, welcomed Triple Jump World Champion Yulimar Rojas at Miraflores Palace.

He was accompanied by the Minister of People’s Power for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado, and the first combatant woman, Cilia Flores.

The athlete has stood out for her long and successful sporting path, where she has achieved two Olympic medals and her world record in triple jump with 15.74 meters, in addition to being a triple champion.

The Head of State, on September 16, 2021, presented Rojas with the award of the Liberator Men and Women Order, in its Second Class “Lanzas de Libertad” (Spears of Liberty), in recognition of her commitment and international trajectory.

The Olympic and world champion in triple jump, Yulimar Rojas, is one of the 100 most influential and inspiring women of the British BBC network in 2022.

Similarly, World Athletics officially certified the record of 15.74m achieved by Yulimar Rojas at the World Indoor Athletics Championships Belgrade 2022.

In addition to being among the five candidates selected by World Athletics to receive the trophy for the best world athlete of 2022; she reissued her triple jump world title at the Diamond League in Zurich, Switzerland.
