On December 20, 2009, in the “Aló Presidente” (Hello President) Sunday program, Commander Hugo Chávez launched the operations of the Bolivarian National Police, which was created as a result of the work of the National Commission for Police Reform (Conarepol) to from 2006, in which the operational and administrative purification of the Metropolitan Police (PM) was carried out, which migrated the troops that complied with the values of respect for human dignity, academic training, citizen awareness and dedication in life to the protection of the people.
This police force is based on a new model based on respect, the progressive and differentiated use of force and a humanist action in dealing with situations of violence, risk, damage and vulnerability of people and property.
