President Maduro: Working class is the backbone of PDVSA

“Now PDVSA is clean, free, thriving, working from the heart of the working class (…) It was the working class, the workers’ power, the backbone for the recovery of this company.”

This was expressed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during the work journey dedicated to the inauguration of the clinic and the dining room for the workers of the “General José Antonio Anzoátegui” Petroleum and Petrochemical Industrial Center, located in Barcelona, Anzoátegui state.

During his tour of the Jose petrochemical complex, the Head of State specified that the new Petróleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA) is developing a methodology based on the 3R.Nets, “heading for the socialist Homeland 2030”, while stressing that by Today the working class has the demands that the State has granted it:

“Today we are handing over their social rights to the working class that gives wealth to the country, and that with their work has allowed us to recover the Homeland, because imperialism wanted to sink us, wanted to stop everything in Venezuela, wanted an economic collapse,” he emphasized.

He emphasized that the economic war against the country and its main industry “began long before the sanctions, with that strike and oil sabotage on December 6, 2002, when the intense economic war began (…) We hit rock bottom, but we we recovered”.

He also recalled that the opposition sectors targeted the fundamental wealth of the country to overthrow Commander Chávez “and make a regime change and impose the mental structure of imperialism and a colonialist regime, but the Venezuelan people stood up to it, and the first was the PDVSA working class”.

In this regard, he rejected the persecution against the country’s main industry “so that it could not pay its commitments, in addition to obtaining financing; four years of sanctions, of terrible persecution against PDVSA, but thanks to the working class we have managed to overcome all adversities”.

Finally, he praised the loving capacity of the people to rescue PDVSA:

Thanks to the workers’ power, the capacity and the love of the workers, today PDVSA is being reborn (…) We are in the territory of the future. The working class has reinvented itself with a lot of passion and intelligence”, he concluded.
