A contingent of Venezuelan professionals arrives in Cuba to attend emergency at the Matanzas Supertanker Base

As a sign of the solidarity that exists between two sister nations, this Sunday morning arrived a contingent of 35 highly trained professionals from Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) in the province of Matanzas to contribute to the attention of the emergency registered as a product of a large fire at the Supertanker Base, located in the industrial zone of that Cuban town.

Through a message on Twitter, the president of the largest of the Antilles, Miguel Díaz Canel, thanked this important support: “It is moving, the endearing message from minister @TareckPSUV, announcing the departure for Cuba of a group of firefighters and experts from @PDVSA. Thanks to brother @NicolásMaduro and to the noble people of #Venezuela for their support.”

This Saturday night, the Sectoral Vice President for Economy and Minister of People’s Power for Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami announced, under instructions of President Nicolás Maduro , the sending of this mission made up of firefighters specialized in highly complex operations of the Venezuelan state oil company, highlighting that it is personnel “of the most trained in this type of incident, to support the work of extinguishing the fire in Matanzas””. The Minister announced that in addition to the mission of professionals and technicians, 20 tons of supplies corresponding to foam and chemical powders were sent to attend to this contingency.

In another message published through his @TareckPSUV account on the Twitter social network, he reported the close relationship of solidarity and brotherhood that Havana and Caracas maintain: “Under any circumstance, regardless of the size of the adversity, the sons and daughters of Chávez, we will always be at the side of Cuba, of its Revolution, of its heroic history. Long live Fidel. Go forward, dear President @DiazCanelB, we shall overcome!” he wrote.

Finally, El Aissami recognized the firm disposition of this team of professionals, who join in the tasks to help put out the fire, “always willing with all our will and vocation of struggle, to support the brother peoples of the Great Homeland!! How proud we are of these brave women and men, extolling the values ​​of solidarity of the Venezuelan people!!”
