This Wednesday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated the Bicentennial of the Meeting of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and General José de San Martín.
“We are preparing to celebrate the Bicentennial of the Meeting of two giants of the Great Homeland, our Liberator Simón Bolívar and General José de San Martín. The South calls us to unite more and more in the deep brotherhood of the peoples”, the Head of State referred through his social networks.
The Interview between The Liberator Simón Bolívar, then president of Colombia, with José de San Martín, who was protector of Peru, constituted the union to debate the destiny of that nation and forge the independence union of the South American region to free it from the Spanish yoke, a meeting that took place in Guayaquil, on July 26 and 27, 1822.
