Building a powerful Health System is the priority of the Bolivarian Revolution

“We have to build a powerful universal, integrated, free and quality Public Health System for the people, one that is supportive, scientific and the most efficient that has ever existed in Venezuela, in Latin America and the Caribbean.”

This was announced by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, at the Graduation Ceremony of the Promotion “Honoring Our Commitment to Social Medicine”, in the Poliedro de Caracas (Caracas’s Polyhedron Hall).

The event was attended by the Minister for Science and Technology, Health and Education, Gabriela Jiménez; the Minister for Health, Magaly Gutiérrez; the Minister for University Education, Tibisay Lucena; and the first combatant woman, Cilia Flores.

President Maduro highlighted the importance of education with a practical sense to address and solve the problems of the people.

He also pointed out: “This powerful Health System that we are going to build together is to directly serve the families of the neighborhood, first of all, and highlighted the importance of community health as a vanguard, as preventive health, in achieving this powerful social policy of the Bolivarian Government: this is the objective”.

Likewise, he guaranteed in the first place, the fixed work posts for all graduates and the projection of housing, gradually, for the doctors who are graduating.

Finally, vice president Gabriela Jiménez, announced that “we have new training plans in Pharmacy, specialized postgraduate courses in Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology.”
