President Maduro instructs to request technical support from the Landless Movement of Brazil to produce organic rice in the country

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ordered to articulate a special plan with the support of the Landless Workers Movement of Brazil (MST), to promote the production of organic rice in Venezuela.

During the inauguration of the Goat and Sheep Expo-Fair “Miranda 2022”, which takes place in the Bolívar Park from this Wednesday, March 23 to Saturday, March 26, he made reference to a Telesur report on the production of organic rice in Brazil, an experience that could be replicated, within the framework of the processes of industrial reactivation and food sovereignty that Venezuela is experiencing:

I would like to replicate it here, even for the MST of Brazil to assign a group of farmers, and that they come to live in Venezuela and go to some of the rice-producing states, to bring the techniques of organic rice production”, he specified.

During a television broadcast from Aragua state, the Head of State also showed the country the progress in preparing for the planting of 500,000 hectares of yellow corn and 332,000 hectares of white corn, which will start in May, with periods of harvests for the coming months of September and January.
