Venezuela registers six cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants after the arrival of Ómicron

Venezuela registers six cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants, said the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

During a general balance of the fight against the global Covid-19 pandemic, as part of the return to classes for 2022 which already began this Monday, January 10, the Venezuelan head of state pointed out that the country has registered an increase of one percentage point of infections per 100,000 inhabitants, this is, the index increased from five cases to six:

“The incidence is in 6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, we cannot lower our guard, Ómicron is gaining strength worldwide, we must not get ourselves off guard”, he pointed out.

Likewise, President Maduro totaled more than 28,000 infections throughout the country, of which 98 percent have recovered:

In these two years of pandemic, Venezuela has accumulated 28,463 cases detected. We have recovered 98 percent of the infected people”, reflected the National President.

He pointed out that there are currently 3,216 patients in hospital centers receiving life care; 1,627 people are being treated at the Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI). In private clinics, 919 are admitted for a total of 5,762 active cases.

The Head of State highlighted that 84% of the patients are cared for in the public health system, with a total of 4,843 people hospitalized at different levels and the remaining 16% in private centers.

On the other hand, Venezuela has registered to date 5,366 citizens who have died from the coronavirus and its variants.

2022 Balance:

President Nicolás Maduro announced that for the last days of December 2021 Venezuela has counted approximately 200 cases, by the beginning of January 2022.

On January 1st , 224 cases. On January 2nd , 144 cases, on January 3rd , 110 cases, and from there the number of cases began to grow”, he said.

He added that for January 4, 287 cases were registered, on the 5th 211 cases, on the 6th 346cases, on the 7th 401 cases, on January 8 414 cases, on the 9 of the same month 447 cases, and yesterday, January 10 were registered 577 cases throughout the country. In addition, he noted that for January 11, the nation counted 598 cases, thus reflecting an increase in infections in recent days.

The President indicated that 570 imported cases have been registered at the national level. Finally he ratified that the flexibilization of the 7 + 7 method will continue until further notice, this means that this measure will not be applied until further notice; however, he insisted on his call not to lower the guard because the nation and the world are still in pandemic.
