President Maduro reveals Elliott Abrams proposed him to leave the presidency and depart the country

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, revealed that Elliott Abrams – United States’ special appointee for Venezuela during the Donald Trump administration – proposed him to leave the presidency of our nation to settle in another country.

The revelation was made in an interview with the director of the Al Mayadeen TV station, Ghassan Ben Yeddou, during which he said that his wife, the first combatant woman Cilia Flores, also received another offer to leave our country:

“That man had the audacity to send a message to my wife, Cilia, telling her to divorce me and then they would allow her to take the whole family from the country to any country she wanted”, he said.

Meanwhile the National President received an offer himself to also leave Venezuela and to choose any country where he would want to live in, and that they would protect him.

He stressed that the United States government wanted the head of state “to betray the people of Venezuela, the cause of Bolívar, the legacy of Chávez, for me to become a traitor and surrender Venezuela to US imperialism”.

He added that “in the arrogance that characterizes them, the imperialists had that claim that crashed with the reality of the Bolivarian morality that we carry forward”.

President Maduro said that Abrams was “some kind of viceroy,” appointed “to govern the colonial territories of Venezuela from Trump’s neocolonialist vision.”
