The National Assembly (AN) approved in a second discussion the Law Bill approving the Agreement within the COSPAS-SARSAT International Program to cooperate with the global maritime help and safety system.
The objective of this project is to establish cooperation with the international community with alert and location data that support search and rescue operations.
It will allow to reinforce the efforts of locating people in dangerous situations and thus proceed to their respective rescue. This highly relevant international operational search and rescue system has been in operation for more than 30 years.
