The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on behalf of the Venezuelan People and Government, extended congratulations to the Honduran people, for the successful election journey they starred this Sunday, November 28, 2021.
Through a communiqué, the Venezuelan Head of State stated that the Honduran people massively expressed their fervent will for Peace and social transformation, with the election of the candidate of the Freedom and Refoundation Party, Xiomara Castro, the first woman elected as President of the Republic of Honduras.
It is a historic triumph that honors the life and sacrifice of the heroes and martyrs who raised their voices for it, especially since the disastrous 2009 coup d’etat against former President Manuel Zelaya.
The people of Morazán resumed the path of hope and the Great Homeland joins this historic democratic celebration. Venezuela reiterated its best wishes to the newly elected authorities.
