Maduro: On Monday, October 25, will begin immunization of children over 12

President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported this Thursday that this coming Monday, October 25, will begin the vaccination process against Covid 19 in children over 12 years old throughout the country.

At the end of the meeting with the Cuban delegation that is visiting the country, the national president explained that this vaccination process for children over 12 years old takes place within the framework of the Integral Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and Venezuela:

From next Monday we will begin to vaccinate children over 12 years old, good news for the mothers and fathers”, he said.

The Head of State stressed that Cuba is the only country with five vaccine candidates and has vaccinated 66% of the population with its own vaccines, reiterating his acknowledgement to the Cuban people and government in the person of Cuban Vice Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, chief of the Cuban delegation visiting Venezuela.

16 million Abdala vaccines:

In this context, the national president pointed out that in the coming days, and until December, Venezuela will receive a total of 16 million doses of the Cuban Abdala vaccine, and announced that its production in the country will begin in January:

It will be produced in a public, socialist laboratory, that is generating the conditions, the projections of how many vaccines will be produced, everything is in the planning phase. What I can guarantee is that, before dawn on January 1, 16 million Abdala vaccines will have arrived in Venezuela”, he said.

Regarding his meeting with Cabrisas Ruiz, he indicated that they readjusted all cooperation plans to continue increasing cooperation in the social, educational, cultural, health and sports fields, as well as in the energy scope.

He recalled that Venezuela is advancing many health projects with Cuba to guarantee timely scientific and medical care to more than 30,000 Venezuelans with “diabetic foot”, as well as the joint production of antidotes against hepatitis.
