CNE met a new audit journey of the voting machines software

The National Electoral Council met another auditing journey of the voting machines which will be used in the Regional and Municipal Elections on November 21.

It was reviewed the computer program for issuing the vote, (and) were analyzed and tested the structure, configuration and functions of the modules corresponding to the workflow for voter authentication.

The political auditors and electoral technicians, after corroborating the alphanumeric security codes of the applications that make up the source code on which the audit is performed, analyzed the structure and configuration of the software operating in the phase of the automated process.

It was shown in detail the interaction between the modules and the Integrated Authentication System, and this allowed to see the execution of voter authentication through biometric validation, that is, the coincidence of the voter’s fingerprint with the one stored in the machine, an indispensable requirement to unlock the machine and to guarantee the “one voter, one vote” principle.
