Nicolás Maduro: The People with its conscience defeated Guaidó and forced him to speak of peace

The People of Venezuela and its conscience crushed the self-proclaimed deputy Juan Guaidó, and forced him to sit at the dialogue table that began on Friday in Mexico, assured the Constitutional President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

During a meeting with the candidates elected by the people in the Open Primary Elections of PSUV, he affirmed that under the pressure of the people, Guaidó and his henchmen were forced to sit down and talk with the Government to ensure peace in the country:

“You were defeated, and defeated we sat you down in Mexico to talk about democracy and peace, the Venezuelan people managed to seat you in Mexico, Guaidó, you are defeated, the people in its conscience crushed you, Guaidó”, he said.

He pointed out that it has been a process of months and years, promoted in this phase since September 2019, when a national dialogue table was established with the Venezuelan opposition to reach agreements that would generate a climate of trust for the holding of the legislative elections of 2020, an initiative that still remains maintained:

“In the light of the results obtained, it has been worth the pain and the struggles given in order to lead the extremist opposition through dialogue”, he emphasized.

In this sense, he remembered of his permanent call for agreement: “I have called for dialogue in countless opportunities. We have spent years meeting with representatives of the opposition, talking about peace, respect for the constitution, the electoral path, the end of the call for an international intervention in Venezuela, the lifting of sanctions”, he said.

In this sense, the President pointed out that in the opposition that traveled to Mexico there are two currents that represent the most extreme of the right-wing groups. “Guaido-ism and Capriles-ism are represented there”, he explained.

On the other hand, he assured that a dialogue table is being held in the country with other opposition factors that are not present in the so-called “unitary platform” and that do not share the extremist positions of these groups.

Historical repercussions:

When applauding the beginning of the political dialogue this Friday in Mexico, with the signing of the understanding memorandum with the extremist opposition of the country to reach an agreement, he highlighted the representation of Venezuela and its Government by the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, invested with plenipotentiary powers granted by the State, to carry out the talks.

In this regard, he affirmed that the results obtained with the dialogue table for agreement and peace installed in Mexico, “will have great repercussions for the country in the months to come”.

“The document signed in Mexico is a great victory that will have a great impact on the economic recovery, the independence of Venezuela, the lifting of sanctions”, he stressed.

Thanking Mexico and Norway for their support in this initiative, he stated that “we have also received the support of the 33 countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (CELAC). CELAC returns and comes back stronger for the peace of Venezuela”.

Finally, the Head of State asked each of the leaders of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela to inform themselves and keep the people informed about the results obtained at the dialogue table activated in Mexico.
