The president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated the people for exercising absolute sovereignty this Sunday, August 8, 2021.
During a telephone contact with the Electoral Commission of the PSUV in the early hours of Monday, August 9, Nicolás Maduro said: “From my heart as a Chavista, as a patriot, a Bolivarian, a Christian and as a common man, I give my thanks to the people, because the simplest people are those who never fail, who never hesitate, who always fight and are willing”.
Nicolás Maduro, affirmed that despite the delays that occurred, the Open Primary Elections of the PSUV can be described as successful; He highlighted the participation of youth, adults and the elderly, and even cited cases in which an entire family attended.
The maximum leader of the PSUV assured that soon the rest of the results will be publicly and officially announced: “Now we have total union, we are going to the acts of the unification of all the pre-candidate men and women, with the Great Patriotic Pole, the Bicentennial Congress of the People, of all the communal, popular, revolutionary and socialist organizations of Venezuela.
Nicolás Maduro thanked the UBCH for all the logistical and organizational effort, and clarified that if any rivalry was created between candidates, they must turn the page immediately and truly unite from the heart to prepare the government programs together with the people, to the new bicentennial stage for which Commander Hugo Chávez prepared them.
Special thanks were due to the National Electoral Council and the members of the voting stations, for the great journey they carried out so that the Open Primary Elections of the PSUV were possible under strict biosafety measures.
