The constitutional president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, denounced the presence of the head of the United States Southern Command, Craig Faller, and the director of the CIA, William Burns, in Brazil and Colombia respectively, who are meeting with senior political and military officials of those neighboring countries with destabilizing purposes against Venezuela:
“Information has arrived, that the head of the Southern Command and the head of the CIA are going around Colombia and Brazil in order to harm Venezuela”, warned the president.
In this sense, the Head of State instructed to be attentive to the possibilities of actions that violate national sovereignty:
“Let us be prepared to face it from all sectors in perfect civic-military union (…) we have to be on alert, all the time, in the face of these international conspiracies that underestimate the people of Venezuela”, he warned.
In this context, the national president announced the promotion of a total of 15,099 men and women, members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, to the immediate higher rank in the different components of the FANB and at the professional troop levels, junior officers and superior officers throughout the national territory.
