Arreaza: What we demand on the border is to sit down to plan a reasonable opening

The Chancellor of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, described as “pure cynicism” the assertions of the director of Migration Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa, who in statements to a local radio station indicated that “I hope there is reasonableness in Venezuela to achieve a gradual migration pass”, to which Arreaza clarifies that “What we demand on the border is to sit down and plan a reasonable opening”.

The chancellor’s response was broadcast on his account on the Twitter social network @jaarreaza. There he says: ‘Pure cynicism! Our peoples are not stupid. It is #Venezuela that has asked #Colombia for “reasonableness”, communication and coordination for 3 years. On the border, what we demand is (for us) to sit down to plan a reasonable opening”.

According to a local Colombian radio station, the director of Migration Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa, assured that from 00:00 all the border crossings with Venezuela are gradually enabled, except for the Simón Bolívar International Bridge.

They mention that “The opening is not total, it has schedules that depend on the respective point and has a peak and document system to substantially reduce mobility and avoid crowds”, he said.
