Organic Law of Special Economic Zones must adapt to post-blockade Venezuela

The Organic Law of Special Economic Zones must be adapted to the post-blockade and post-sanctions Venezuela, said the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, during the Public Hearing on this instrument held at Miraflores Palace with the participation of the deputies who are members of the commission of Finances of the AN.

The Head of State highlighted the importance of this day in order to make the country and the economic sectors of the Nation known: “This Law that will mark the economic process of the coming months and years”.

In this sense, he reaffirmed that Venezuela has a parliamentary opposition that is “clear, direct, frontal, which has learned to dialogue, among Venezuelans we must dialogue and understand each other.”

He urged the deputies present on the journey, those of the Bloque de la Patria (Homeland Bloc) and those of the opposition bench, to make their best efforts in the study and promotion of this Law, an instrument that in his opinion “is not easy nor complacent, and it should serve to lay the rails for the new model of national development”.

International experience:

He also exposed the positive experience of countries such as China, Vietnam, Singapore and South Korea, among others, in the development of their special economic areas, elements to consider in the case of Venezuela, “vital for the growth and investment opportunities of the next decades.

President Maduro ratified that this Law, which he described as the “eldest daughter of the Anti-Blockade Law”, comes to order, organize and open investment opportunities for the industrial and technological development of the country, in the public and private sectors.

He announced that within the framework of the Organic Law of Special Economic Zones, special areas will initially be established in La Guaira, Puerto Cabello and Nueva Esparta.

He recalled that this issue has been studied for several years, establishing a body of decrees and a non-organic law, “rehearsals that were severely hit by the criminal sanctions and the blockade of the last three years”.

“The course that this Law proposes opens great expectations, great hopes and new opportunities for Venezuela,” he said.
