Venezuela reaffirmed that inequality is the wrong way to tackle the pandemic

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, denounced before the 7th Ibero-American Meeting of Ministers of Finance and Economy, that inequality is the wrong way to address the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, during her speech at the virtual meeting, referred to the difference and inequity that exists in the world with access to vaccines, recalled that the director general of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom, reported that 76% of the vaccines distributed in the world are concentrated in only 10 countries.

The also Minister for Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, indicated that at the meeting were also addressed the different multilateral financing systems, mechanisms and actions to jointly address the pandemic.

At the 7th Ibero-American Meeting of Ministers of Finance and Economy, Rodríguez stressed that in Venezuela the Public Health System is of universal and free access: “It is the backbone of care against COVID-19, we need better quality in international cooperation, we must evaluate which are the best mechanisms to access financing”, affirmed the Vice President.
