Venezuela rejects Colombia’s «concern» over homeland defense operation

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the statements of the Government of Colombia, where it expresses «an alleged concern» for the operation to defend national sovereignty, carried out by our Bolivarian National Armed Forces in Apure state.

Through a statement, the Venezuelan government denounced that Iván Duque, with the support of the United States government, installed a corridor of illegal activities on the border, such as human trafficking, the illicit exploitation of minerals and drug trafficking, to finance an armed operation against Venezuela.

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces acted against the camps of Colombian armed groups, which use terrorist methods, such as the installation of antipersonnel mines, which attack the civilian population, the facilities that provide electricity service, the tax authority and PDVSA.

The Venezuelan people reiterate their absolute support for the FANB, and the Bolivarian Government ratifies that any armed organization that tries to violate national sovereignty will have a forceful response.
