AN creates special commission for the eradication of machismo in the country

The National Assembly (AN) created during the ordinary session of this Tuesday, a special commission to study and develop tools that allow the eradication of machismo in Venezuela.

The president of the Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, explained that the commission will study the causes and promote all the elements for the eradication of machismo, and be able to “declare Venezuela free of machismo,” he said.

Rodríguez explained that the commission will be chaired by Deputy María León.

Previously, the unicameral plenary approved an agreement to enhance the role of women in national development.

Similarly, the AN recognized the work of community defenders, cooks and producers of educational centers, promoters of Humanized Childbirth and members of integral defense units.

The subject was addressed on the occasion of celebrating International Women’s Day, on March 8.
