AN repudiates illegal EU measures against Venezuelan state officials

This Tuesday, the plenary of the National Assembly (AN) urged the National Executive to evaluate the operation of the office of that body in Caracas.

The agreement was read by deputy Ilenia Medina and repudiates the illegal measures that the European Union (EU) imposed against 19 officials of the Venezuelan state this Monday.

Medina explained that a headquarters of that instance in the country is inconsistent because it is a regional group and its reason for being belongs solely to that territory.

“We have to review and ask the (National) Executive for the operating agreement by means of which, in its time, it was authorized to open that office”, she emphasized.

In addition, the parliament urged to declare persona non grata and establish a mechanism to make effective the expulsion of the European delegate, Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa.

The president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, expressed that this is just another aggression of the multiform plan that is being carried out from abroad against Venezuela.

Citizen Secretary, send the list with the 277 deputies to (Josep) Borrell and may he sanction us all, it would be an honor,” he pointed out.

Rodríguez added that it is disgusting that there are people who have become addicted to sanctions at the cost of the suffering of the peoples.

For his part, deputy José Bernabé Gutiérrez, said that unilateral actions are promoted by the “chiefs of the gangs that bear the names and surnames.”

They are enemies of democracy. They live by winking their eyes, what they pretend is that, whenever they are not given them everything they are asking for, then they ask for sanctions, he added.

Likewise, the opposition parliamentarian Luis Parra pointed out that the EU is inaugurating a new form of human rights violation.

Likewise, Congressman José Brito added that those who should be punished are those who “have stolen money from state companies.”

On February 22, the EU Foreign Affairs Council arbitrarily imposed unilateral measures against 19 officials of the Venezuelan State.

The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Indira Alfonzo Izaguirre, and other officials of the Public Power were also pointed out.
