Venezuela rejects interference statements by a group of representatives of the UN Human Rights Council

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejects the statement issued by a group of representatives of the special procedures of the Human Rights Council (DD.HH.), before the judicial inquiries made to the “Azul Positivo” Non-Governmental Organization for violations of the Venezuelan law.

The Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, pointed out that said statements dated February 18, 2021, issued by representatives of the special procedures of the Human Rights Council, denote a profound ignorance of the Venezuelan legal system and qualify facts without knowing their true legal implications:

Venezuela observes with concern the evident misrepresentation in which this group of representatives of the special procedures incurs, in the face of the judicial inquiries made to the “Azul Positivo” Non-Governmental Organization, after detecting a practice of transferring resources in foreign currency to individuals under an unauthorized financial modality, nor contemplated in Venezuelan laws”, as refers the communiqué issued by Venezuela in response to the statements of said group of the Human Rights Council.
